Eeeeeeek! I have just bought our first item for our Christmas Eve hampers! Christmas Eve is the most magical part of the year for us and our day starts with a special delivery from Santa's elves:- a special Christmas Eve hamper!
The hamper always contains a Christmas card with a special goodbye message from our elf on the shelf and some traditional chocolate coins.
It also contains the obligatory Christmas PJs. This year, I'm going to try and find some traditional style pjs and of course they need to be snug for Christmas Eve night.
This year I could not resist buying these hot water bottles from matalan to add to the hamper. They are £6 each but on a 3for2 offer so work out at just £4 each. Very cute! (And fitting to my blog)
I always include a special Christmas story. T'was the night before Christmas is my favourite and I have my eyes on this version (complete with sound panel) from usborne.
To complete the basket I add our reindeer food - ready to sprinkle on the lawn that night and a bath time treat which is usually a Christmas themed bath bomb from lush.
My children love our Christmas Eve hampers and I love making them. I think it is a tradition I will probably continue right through to adulthood. They don't have to cost a lot - you can make them up completely of handmade items and sweets. A lot of the items such as PJs I would have bought already and this is a nice way to bring everything together.
